Korean show Squid Game that aired on Netflix has taken the world by storm and broke several records as it became the most-watched show on the streaming giant. The show also saw majority of Halloween parties themed around Hwang Dong-hyuk’s series. However, when KaranvirBohra and his wife Teejay Seedhu decided to incorporate the same theme for their twin daughters Bella and Vienna’s fifth birthday it did not go down well with the netizens who called out the couple for using such a violent show for a birthday bash.
Karanvir and Teejay Sidhu threw an extravagant birthday party for their twin daughters Bella and Vienna. The couple was dressed like guards from Squid Game while their daughters wore dresses just like, ‘Red Light Green Light’s’ infamous doll. Taking to Instagram, Karanvir shared a video and wrote, “When you watch too much of #squidgame you start seeing your children dress up as #gogolagochi trying to get back at you for all the strictness we have shown them @twinbabydiaries @bombaysunshine Thank you @fairylights.events for this awesome décor And thank you @ankzz81 for being there for us (PS: While this show is popular worldwide, our children have not seen it, nor know what's it's about. We've shown them the costume online, they've heard the song also. We've explained we're guards because we protect 'good guys.')”

However, social media users slammed the couple. One user wrote, “Don’t think that is a correct theme for kids birthday party,” while another wrote, “Where are we heading with this …. on kids birthday party … really ??” a third user questioned, “I don’t get this. There’s nothing child friendly about squid game. So this is mostly to appease/entertain the parent/adult population at this party.”
The viral Netflix show is currently the highest-rated series of the year and its star cast, Lee Jung-Jae, Park Hae-soo, Jung Ho-Yeon, O Yeong-Su, Anupam Tripathi, have become overnight sensations all around the world.
