Veteran actor Ghanshyam Nayak a.k.a Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's Natu Kaka succumbs to cancer at the age of 77

Veteran actor Ghanshyam Nayak breathed his last at the age of 77. He was diagnosed with cancer and was reportedly taking chemotherapy for the same. However, after putting up a brave fight against Big C, Mr Nayak passed away today. He was last seen in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah as Natu Kaka. 

Asit Kumarr Modi, the producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, confirmed the news on his Twitter account. "Hamare pyaare #Natukaka @TMKOC_NTF hamare saath nahi rahe," he tweeted. He further prayed for the veteran actor's soul to attain peace.

The director of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Malav Rajda, shared a picture of the actor and wrote, "Ghanshyam bhai know you since i was a child wen u use to do plays with my dad...loved you then and loved you now..and you will always be loved by everyone who knew you...still have to come across such a jovial, lovable and a selfless man like you...thank you for always showering ur love and blessings on me...you will be really missed a lot...love you natu kaka..."

Mr Nayak a.k.a Natu Kaka played the role of the manager of Jethalal Gada's electronics store in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He acted in over 100 Gujarati and Hindi films and also did numerous television shows like Khichdi, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai to name a few. 

In 2020, he underwent surgery to remove eight lumps from his neck. It was revealed that he was diagnosed with cancer. Despite ill health, he made brief appearances in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah
