Rajan Shahi's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai made Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan a household name. One of the longest-running daily soaps, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai gave Indian television two popular fictitious characters- Naira/Seerat and Kartik. Now, Shivangi and Mohsin will be reportedly bidding adieu to the show. As per an entertainment portal's report, the production house has taken the decision and the makers have informed the actors about their exit.
Reportedly, Shivangi and Mohsin's track in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai will come to an end by the first week of October and the actors will be shooting their last episode before this month ends. New characters are expected to be introduced to take the story forward. A source told the portal, "Shivangi and Mohsin will be making an exit from the show by October first week and new actors will join in. The makers have already done a lot of experiments with their characters and now, want to start a new storyline. Hence, the decision has been made."

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai started in 2009 with Hina Khan and Karan Mehra in the lead. After Hina's character Akshara was shown dead, the focus shifted on Shivangi's Naira. In 2016, Mohsin and Shivangi joined the show. Currently, the actress is playing the role of Seerat, who is Naira's lookalike.
According to reports, Mohsin had expressed his desire to quit the show to try out different mediums like OTT and films. Rumours are rife that he has been approached for the upcoming 15th season of Bigg Boss.
