Shoot of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2 comes to an abrupt halt due to COVID-19 restrictions, actress Akanksha Juneja says 'no idea till when are we not shooting'

The Government of Maharashtra's decision to impose a partial lockdown in the state has affected the television industry. The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray, has permitted the shoot of television shows and films but without a crowd. Also, due to the weekend lockdown, makers of daily soaps have to wrap up the work by every Friday till April 30 at least. Amid this, the shoot of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2 came to an abrupt halt recently leaving everyone on the sets shocked. Akanksha Juneja, who plays the role of Kanak Desai, the antagonist, spoke to leading daily about it.

"I am in utter shock and sad at what suddenly happened in the city. We were shooting extra because there’s lockdown over the weekend. We were planning to create a bank by working till Friday. We were all prepared. By evening when we got over, we came out and made calls to our home. We got to know there’s shutdown in the city. When we discussed among ourselves, what was gonna happen. We had no idea whether we are shooting tomorrow, not shooting tomorrow or till when are we not shooting," Akanksha told.

Akanksha further added, "It is complete chaos because nobody has any idea. It’s an uninformed lockdown. No one has any idea how long it is going to last. Production house said they will inform us as and when they get any circular about it from the authorities. We got to know some areas are going under lockdown and were discussing the same. I am in shock. We just started six months back, it’s new."

Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2 also stars Sneha Jain and Harsh Nagar.
