When Television actor Shantanu Maheshwari and his model girlfriend Nityaami Shirke participated in the latest season of Nach Baliye last year it was reported that they are faking it as a couple. Now as per reports in a leading daily, the duo has indeed parted ways calling themselves close friends. During an interaction with the daily, Nityaami opened up about their relationship and how they parted ways post their stint on the dance-based reality show.
However, Nityaami says that she and Shantanu never faked anything. Opening up on their relationship and eventual break-up, she says, “Shantanu and I started dating around April 2019, while we were shooting for the promos of a web series. During 'Nach Baliye', we were getting to know each other. Being on the show helped us bond because we dealt with a lot during those five months. Nothing ever went wrong with our relationship. It’s just that we realised that we are better off as friends. We called it quits in February this year. However, he is still very much a part of my life and a good friend. And, we prefer it that way.”
A couple of months back, Shantanu had wished Nityaami on her birthday with a series of photos and a caption stating she is his 'friend'.
