Hope they get it back on air: R Madhavan miss his ‘Ghar Jamai’ days, hopes the 90s show makes a successful comeback on TV amid lockdown

Apart from the novel and deadly Coronavirus pandemic, 2020 will be remembered for bringing back the good old 90s era on our televisions as several hit series have made a comeback on popular demand amid the lockdown. Right from Ramayan, Mahabharat, Chanakya, Shriman Shrimati, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Upanishad Ganga, Circus, Shaktimaan and others have made their way back into our living rooms. R Madhavan who gained popularity with his hit television sitcom Ghar Jamai is hoping that Zee TV brings the well-loved show back once again. 

Ghar Jamai was a well-loved serial that featured Madhavan as Subramaniam Namboodiripad aka Subbu, a Tamilian married to a Punjabi girl played by Mandira Bedi. Satish Shah starred as the strict and disapproving father-in-law of Madhavan. One user took to social media to reminisce about the show. Reacting to the user, Satish Shah helped him recollect the name of the show, which prompted Madhavan to wish that the serial makes a comeback.

The television channels have really upped their game with the reruns of popular shows. Right from the above mentioned Doordarshan shows other channels have also started broadcasting their old serials, such as Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Khichdi, Mahakali Anth Hi Aarambh Hai and several others.
