Actress Disha Vakani, who plays Dayaben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has been missing from the show for more than a year. Disha took a maternity break in September 2017 and after she was blessed with a baby girl last year, all eyes were set on her much-awaited return to the sitcom. While speculations were rife that makers might replace her if the actress doesn’t give her final decision, there was no confirmation from either of them so far.
Interestingly, a fresh report in an entertainment portal now suggests that makers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah have given Disha an ultimatum of 30 days to finalise if she would return to the show or not. Informing about producer Asit Modi's decision, a source told the portal, "Bas, ab ho gaya. Modi waited ethically how much he and his cast-crew could. Now, Modi says he will just give a concession period of a month, starting today. There has been absolutely no contact between the two parties ever since Dayaben's last day at shoot. Team Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has no problems if she wants to look after her baby but some of her demands that they would imply if she was to return, were just not easy to accept when her husband last has a word with us."

"Seems, Disha wanted to hanker for a bit of publicity in the media. So, she put a some throwback video. Toh dekhte hain kya hota hai. We will still welcome her warmly if she returns without unacceptable do's and don'ts. Else we are going ahead with another actress after 30 days, max 35," the source further added.
Now will we get to see Dayaben once again on the show or not, is still left to be seen.
