Our armed forces will give a befitting reply to terrorists, says Kapil after supporting Sidhu over his Pulwama comment

After supporting Navjot Singh Sidhu over his comments on the Pulwama terror attack, Kapil Sharma told a leading daily that he is sure about the fact that armed forces in India will “give a befitting reply” to terrorists. Sidhu was reportedly sacked from The Kapil Sharma Show following his comment while Kapil was trolled severely after he spoke in favour of the politician, saying that “banning someone or sacking” him from the show is “not the solution.”

While speaking to the daily, Kapil dodged questions on the controversy but said that martyrs should be paid tribute at this hour while people should stand in support with their families.  “People might have different opinions on how to deal with the perpetrators of terrorism, but we should not get distracted by it. The biggest tribute that we can pay to our martyrs is to show solidarity with their families in this hour of grief. I’m sure our armed forces will give a befitting reply to the terrorists and their handlers in Pakistan,” Kapil told the daily.

Kapil’s comment after Sidhu’s remark last week was viewed in favour of the politician by the internet following which the comedian was viciously censured as #BoycottKapilSharma trended throughout on Twitter.

Navjot Singh Sidhu was reportedly asked to resign from The Kapil Sharma Show by producer Salman Khan following his remarks that “nations cannot be held responsible for the dastardly acts of terrorists” and that the dialogue with Islamabad should continue. Reports of Archana Puran Singh ‘replacing’ Sidhu on the show have surfaced off late but she told a leading daily that nothing has been finalised as yet.
