Can romance onscreen anyone aged between 16 to 86: Nakuul Mehta

Nakuul Mehta is currently impressing the audience and winning hearts with his stint as Shivansh Singh Oberoi in Star Plus' popular drama Ishqbaaz. In an interview to a daily, Nakuul confidently said he is the "go-to guy for romance on Indian television and can romance anyone between 16 and 86."

Nakuul, before the leap in the show Ishqbaaz, played the role of Shivaay Singh Oberoi who is Shivaansh's father. As Shivaay, he was paired opposite Surbhi Chandna aka Anika. Now, he is seen romancing Mannat Kaur aka Niti Taylor.

Niti, who essays the role of Mannat in the show, is 12 years younger to Nakuul. On being asked if the age difference makes the actors uncomfortable, and Nakuul replied, "As an artiste, you are not playing yourself but a character. I'm the go-to guy for romance on Indian television. I will happily romance anyone between 16 and 86."

However, when the generation leap took place, the actor wasn't certain about continuing the redux version show but believed that the show is more important than any other factor. For him, the show will always be a huge part of him and vice versa.  "I have always believed that the show is bigger than the actors. It doesn't matter if I continue to headline it or not because it will always be a huge part of me and vice versa," shared TV's reigning star.

Nakuul was previously seen in Star Plus' Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara.
