Actress Tina Datta, who rose to fame as Iccha with serial Uttaran is all set to make her comeback on television as a lead character. Apparently, the actress has been roped in to play the lead role in the upcoming serial, Daayan. Tina, who was last seen in serial Karmaphal Daata Shani as Dhamini, wife of Shani has been locked to play the female lead against Mohit Malhotra.
According to our source, Tina was not the first choice for this finite weekend series. The makers had roped in Naagin fame Adaa Khan for the lead role. However, she opted out at the last minute as she bagged the lead role in another supernatural series – Vish Ya Amrit: Sitara.
Daayan produced by Ekta Kapoor will be the tale of a blood-sucking evil spirit. After the success stories of Qayamat Ki Raat and Naagin in the horror and thriller genre, Balaji Telefilms pins its hopes on Daayan to create a hat-trick of on-going thriller shows on TV.
