Kapil Sharma to begin shooting for new show, produced by Salman Khan, from December 16

Kapil Sharma is all set to make his comeback on television with his new comedy show – to be produced by Salman Khan’s production banner – and will begin shooting for it from December 16, a leading daily reports. His comedy series, The Kapil Sharma Show, went off air in 2017 after the TRPs dropped drastically following the comedian’s mid-air fight with then co-star Sunil Grover.

Kapil, as per reports that surfaced in October, was unable to convince producers to support his show and that is when Salman stepped in as sources said that the new season of the comedy series will be produced under the 52-year-old actor’s banner.

The report states that the set for Kapil’s show is being constructed at Film City in Mumbai, where he also filmed his previous series. In order to prepare for his show, Kapil has been working out profusely and maintaining his diet as well.

Sources told a leading daily last month that the channel on which the show will be aired intends to retain the star cast of The Kapil Sharma Show in the new series as well. Ali Asgar, Upasna Singh, Chandan Prabhakar, Sugandha Mishra and Rochelle Rao, who were part of the show, have been approached for the new season but their response is awaited. On the other hand, Sumona Chakravarti, Kiku Sharda and Bharti Singh have agreed to do the show.

The show, according to the report, is expected to premiere in January 2019 as the channel wants to ensure its perfect execution instead of rushing into things. The format of the show will be the same as before as celebrities will make an appearance on it to promote their films or other projects.
