TV continues to portray the bahu in the same way; nothing has changed: Ankita Lokhande

In an interview given to a leading daily, Ankita spoke about how TV shows continue to portray the same image of bahus even after so many years. Ankita played the role of Archana for six years and later took a hiatus from the show. However, nothing much has changed on the TV circuit feels the actress.

On being asked whether she feels that a lot has changed on television from the time she played a bahu on the small screen, Ankita said that she doesn’t really know! “I feel that from the time we had Smriti Irani portraying the bahu in Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi to Pavitra Rishta to now, TV continues to portray the bahu in the same way. Nothing has changed in the last two decades, because the audience enjoys such saas-bahu dramas. Even today, people relate to me as Archana," shared the actress.

Ankita was also asked that the notion that TV actors take longer to get into films is true or not, she refuted it by saying that today’s films are more about content, actors and good scripts. “People who are not from the industry are doing good for themselves, so that notion is wrong," said the actress.
