Veteran TV actress Amita Udgata, who played the titular role of Dadi Bua in Shaheer Sheikh’s Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi, passed away on Tuesday night. She suffered lungs failure post which she passed away.
As per a leading daily, the actress was admitted to CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai for the last four days and was on life support. Amita was best known for playing Amma in Star Plus' social drama Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya, and other shows like Maharana Pratap, Baba Aiso Varr Dhundo and Doli Armaanon Ki.

Amita is survived by two children, Ruchin Udgata and Rishabh Udgata. Actress Abha Parmar, who has also worked with Amita in Rui Ka Bojh expressed her grief while speaking to a leading daily. She said, "We were more like sisters than friends. I am from Kanpur and she was from Lucknow. I wasn't aware that her condition so serious. I was supposed to visit her today. She was a great actress and a friend and we have faced life's struggles together."
Amita's last rites will be performed on Thursday.
For the uninitiated, Amita has also featured in films like Parineeti Chopra-starrer Hasee Toh Phase and Aishwarya Rai’s Sarabjit.
