Ekta Kapoor’s supernatural thriller Naagin 3 has already created a lot of buzz with its teasers. The show seems promising enough with its new star cast including Anita Hassanandani, Surbhi Jyoti, Karishma Tanna, Amrapali Gupta and Rajat Tokas. And guess what; the storyline of this season is very similar to Jeetendra and Reena Roy starrer film Nagin which was released in 1976.
Pearl V Puri, Rakshanda Khan and Chetan Hansraj will also be a part of Naagin 3. The original naagin, Mouni Roy will not be appearing in the serial as she has moved on to the silver screen and is all set to make her debut opposite Akshay Kumar in Gold and will also be seen in Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Brahmastra.
Apparently, this season, the audience will witness not one or two, but three naagins in the show. However, one of them will die very soon. A source close to the show said, “Karishma Tanna doesn’t have a big role; she will die soon in the show. She will be seen in the first 7-8 episodes. There will be few flashback scenes which the actress has already shot for. The entire plot will revolve around the other two naagins (Surbhi Jyoti & Anita Hassanandani).”
Shedding more light on the plot; our source further added, “Ekta took a lot of inspiration from the blockbuster films including Nagin and Jaani Dushman. She has instructed her writer to use some chunks from the film in the script. Ekta’s idea has already been considered by the writers. In fact, she has already purchased the rights of Rajkumar Kohli’s 1976 blockbuster, Naagin.”

Reportedly, Karishma's character and the Nagraj (Rajat Tokas) in their human forms will get into an altercation with a group of bratty rich kids. The group will start harassing, Karishma's character. Nagraj will try to warn the group to stay in their limits but when they do not pay heed to him, he loses his cool and transforms himself into a snake. The group panics and kills Nagraj.
