Ranbir Kapoor's Sanju becomes 5th highest grossing film of all times

Ranbir Kapoor’s film Sanju is not looking to stop any time soon. The Sanjay Dutt biopic has been breaking box office records left, right and centre, right from its first day of release. After edging past Salman Khan’s Race 3 which was an Eid release, now the film has surpassed Salman’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan to become the 5th highest grossing Bollywood film of all time.

Sanju achieved this feat in just 19 days since its release. Bajrangi Bhaijaan which was directed by Kabir Khan and starred Salman, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles collected Rs 320.34 crores in its lifetime business whereas Sanju has managed to earn Rs 321.57 crores at the box office in India so far and it is still going strong.

Besides Ranbir, Sanju stars Sonam Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Anushka Sharma, Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Dia Mirza and Karishma Tanna. The way Sanju is reaping benefits at the box office the film is poised to break even more records in the days to come as it is not going to come down anytime soon.

The only films that have earned more than Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju are Aamir Khan’s Dangal (Rs 387.38 crore), PK (Rs 340.8 crore) and Salman’s Tiger Zinda Hai (Rs 339.16 crore)and SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion which is the only film in the Rs 500 core club. The way Sanju is running at the box office, we’re sure it will overcome Tiger Zinda Hai’s collection soon.

However, it might get some stiff competition from Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter starrer Dhadak which releases tomorrow. The film has already generated quite a buzz as it is Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi’s debut film. Some other Hollywood films like animated feature film Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation and Dwayne Johnson’s Skyscraper is also up for release which will be looking forward to giving Ranbir’s Sanju a tough competition.
