Alia Bhatt’s Raazi and Deadpool 2 are going great guns at box office, keeps cash registers ringing

Ryan Reynolds’s Deadpool 2 is raking in the moolah since its release. The latest superhero film to release at the box office is backed by Marvel and distributed by 20th Century Fox. It has garnered positive response at the Indian box office and the audiences love the antics and shenanigans of the superhero with the motor mouth. Deadpool joins the ranks of Avengers: Infinity Wars which is booming at the box office. The film’s Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions are also going great guns in the country. The Hindi version is voiced by Ranveer Singh.

Deadpool 2 collected a cool Rs 11.5 crore on Sunday, day 3 of its release. Its total 3 days collection till now has become a cool Rs 33.4 crore net. It has become the third biggest superhero film of all time and the seventh biggest opening for a Hollywood film of all time. Deadpool 2 will not be able to give much competition to Avengers: Infinity War since it is an adult film with crass dialogues peppered with choicest expletives in comparison to the latter which was a family friendly film.

On the other hand, Alia Bhatt starrer Raazi is still going strong and has raked in Rs 21.74 crore in its week two. The spy-drama has grossed a total of Rs 78.33 crore and is looking forward to crossing the Rs 100 crore mark by the end of this week.

Raazi stars Vicky Kaushal, Soni Razdan, Rajit Kapoor and Jaideep Ahlawat besides Alia. The film is directed by Meghna Gulzar and is based on Harinder Sikka’s novel Calling Sehmat. It tells the remarkable true story of an Indian girl who gets married to a Pakistani army man in order to turn spy for her country during the India-Pakistan war of 1971. Raazi continues its rock solid hold at the box office in its second week too.
