Box Office: Varun’s October progresses steadily; Tiger's Baaghi continues its dream run

Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu’s October is on its way to become a hit. The Shoojit Sircar directorial is going strong even after a week of its release. The film has been going strong on the box office and has fetched a cool Rs 27.99 crore in collections at the ticket window.

The film has earned Rs 2.43 crore on Wednesday and is expected to garner more business over the weekend. With the good word-of-mouth publicity, the film is receiving it is all set to ring the cash registers ringing over the weekend. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the movie’s box office collections on his Twitter account. He wrote, “#October Fri 5.04 cr, Sat 7.47 cr, Sun 7.74 cr, Mon 2.70 cr, Tue 2.61 cr, Wed 2.43 cr. Total: ₹ 27.99 cr. India biz.”

Varun and Banita have been garnering praise for their roles in the movie from the Bollywood fraternity. Shoojit, who is known to make simplistic yet poignant movies is also getting a lot of accolades for his most recent directorial venture. The movie is being talked as Dhawan’s best film till date, and with the good reviews that it is receiving the movie looks to go from strength-to-strength.

On the other hand, Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani’s Baaghi 2 is keeping the audience entertained. The film, which has already crossed Rs 155 crore mark, has proved to remain stable. It has fetched a whopping Rs 157.85 crore till date and is planning to earn a few more bucks until it is replaced.  Tiger is the youngest actor to have made it into the Rs 100 crore club and has also garnered huge appreciation from Bollywood.

With Nanu ki Janu and Beyond The Clouds releasing tomorrow, let's see if the films are able to repeat the similar performance or fail to stand tall under the pressure.
