The twelfth season of controversial reality show Bigg Boss opened with high drama, especially surrounding devotional singer Anup Jalota’s alleged relationship with Jasleen Matharu considering the difference in their age gap – he is 65, she, 28. Jalota, however, is the latest celebrity to get evicted from the show and told a leading website that his relationship with Jasleen is very pure and unlike most others.
“Ours is a very pure and musical relationship. And I think it’s above love. My relationship with Jasleen is not physical but spiritual. Outside the show, we have been to each other’s house only a couple of times. During our stay, we got to talk and spend time together. And I can confidently say, our bond has become stronger. I hope it continues to be so forever,” Jalota told the website.

Jalota, soon after his participation in the show, was mercilessly trolled on social media for allegedly dating a rather young woman. While speaking to a news agency after his eviction, Jalota clarified that Jasleen’s father is his very old friend and that he isn’t involved in any sort of physical relationship with her.
"People are not able to understand our relationship. We don't have any kind of love story. We just share a musical relationship. She is my student and I am her teacher. I help her in learning music. There is no girlfriend-boyfriend kind of relationship between us and we are also not involved in any romantic and physical relation," Jalota told the agency.
Jalota lasted only for a month in Bigg Boss 12.
