People would tell me I’m not a heroine material because I don’t look like Deepika Padukone: Fatima Sana Shaikh

In an exclusive interview with PeepingMoon.com, Fatima Sana Shaikh made a startling revelation about making a 'difficult' transition from a child artist to a feature film actor, the highs of 'Dangal' and dark lows of 'Thugs of Hindostan' and being told she could not become a heroine because she did not look like Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone.

Talking about the failure of a big-budget film like Thugs Of Hindostan, the actress said, "I am not bearing the burden of a film like Thugs. I am a newcomer, I am not shouldering the film. Yash Raj Films is shouldering the film, Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan are."

On the work front, Fatima's film Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari released in the theaters on Friday and opened to mixed reviews. Her Netflix multi-starrer Ludo also released last week.
