The makers of Karan Johar's Good Newwz launched the trailer of their film today afternoon and it seems to be a laugh riot. Starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh, the film remains to top the list of the most anticipated ones of the year. Today, at the trailer launch event, Akshay and Kareena spoke about how they came on board for Good Newwz. And well, did you know that not Akshay but it was Kareena who signed the film first.
When Akshay was asked how he became a part of the film, he said, "I still remember Karan came to narrate a story of around 1.5-2 hours. I said very nice story. Then I asked what else are you making, so he said another small film titled Good News. I asked what's the story of that and he narrated it for like only 2 minutes. So, I said dedh ghante wali bhul jaate hai, yeh karte hai. I really liked this slice of life film. And honestly speaking, the incident you watched in the trailer has actually happened somewhere and with that, we have made the film."

But what took our attention was when Kareena said that she was actually the first one to sign the film. She said, "When actually Raj narrated the film, I personally thought I was perfect for the part. That's the truth, I really wanted to do the film, it was funny and I couldn't stop laughing. And I said why not? It is a production house I trust beyond. Whole package is great. Actually Akshay was not on board at that time, I was the first one that came on board, I didn't know who the rest of the cast was. So, I was like let's do it, it's very funny."
Good Newwz is directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Karan Johar. The film, which is said to revolve around two couples trying for parenthood, will release on December 27, 2019.
