She is the only person who taught me to take it all seriously: Saif Ali Khan reveals how ex-wife Amrita Singh helped him in his career

Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh got married in 1991 and had two kids, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan. The couple divorced in 2004 and Saif married actor Kareena Kapoor in 2012 and they have a son together, Taimur. However, time and again, Saif has praised Amrita for raising their kids well and eventually, things have got better between them.

Now once again, Saif has showered praises on Amrita and credited her for his Bollywood success. Speaking during an interview, Saif was quoted as saying, “I also ran away from home, and got married at 20. And I’ve to give Amrita [Singh], my ex-wife, credit for being the only person who taught me to take it all [work/show-business] seriously. She said you can’t hit the target while laughing at it. That’s when Parampara happened."

He also added how Amrita was the one who told him to believe in himself when he was clueless about how to approach his character in Dil Chahta Hai. She apparently asked him why is he even asking others how to play the role. He should do his own thing. And guess what? Saif's Sameer in Dil Chahta Hai made the actor's career get back on the right track.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Saif Ali Khan was last seen in Laal Kaptaan. Going further, he will be seen in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, Jawaani Jaaneman among other projects.
