'We have matured as actors over the years': Sidharth Malhotra on reuniting with Parineeti Chopra in Jabariya Jodi

Back in 2014, Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra were paired together for the first time in comedy-drama Hasee Toh Phasee. The film turned out to be a sleeper hit, and the chemistry between Sidharth and Parineeti were appreciated by one and all. Now as the two are all set to reunite on the silver screen, five years later, with Prashant Singh's Jabariya Jodi, Sidharth feels that the certain amount of goodwill the audience has for Hasee Toh Phasee will prove beneficial for their upcoming film.

Speaking about it to a leading daily, Sid said, “Pari and I are acting together after so many years, and there is a certain level of goodwill that comes from Hasee Toh Phasee, which was loved by the people. We have matured as actors over the years, and are definitely more comfortable now. The roles here are not as sweet as Hasee Toh Phasee. In fact, they are far more aggressive."

Furthermore, Sidharth pointed out that the aggression and tussle between his and Parineeti's characters is the USP of this film. "There is a bit of competition between us in the film, and it was entertaining to see Pari in this space. She was entertained seeing me eat paan and go all rustic," he was quoted as saying. When asked if he was aware of groom kidnapping, the actor quipped, “I had fleetingly read about it online, but our writer and director are from that state, so they have taken a face and fictionalized it to make an entertaining love story. It’s an interesting cocktail." Last but not the least, Sidharth is excited to showcase a different side of him in Jabariya Jodi.

After being postponed from August 2, the film will now hit screens on August 9.
