She is very proud of me: Ranveer Singh reveals wife Deepika Padukone’s reaction after watching Simmba

Two days ahead of the release of Simmba, Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan and director Rohit Shetty interacted with the press in Mumbai on December 26 during which the actor revealed his wife Deepika Padukone’s response after watching the film. Deepika accompanied Ranveer during the special screening of Simmba at a theatre on Tuesday and of course, she loved the film.

“She is very proud of me. She is very proud of Rohit Sir,” Ranveer told the press, asked about Deepika’s reaction to Simmba after watching the film. Ranveer married Deepika in November. Rohit, who directed Deepika in 2013’s Chennai Express, added, “We have an association – Chennai Express. So, she was very thrilled. Very happy.”

Simmba highlights several issues including the empowerment of women and fighting crime against women. It narrates Sangram Bhalerao’s (Ranveer Singh) journey as his character undergoes a valiant change in the film – from a corrupt cop, Bhalerao turns into a determined police officer, who sets out on a quest for justice to avenge a woman’s rape and subsequent death.

Simmba is the remake of Telugu film Temper and is scheduled to release on December 28. It is Sara’s second film after Kedarnath, which marks her debut in Bollywood.
