I L-O-V-E IT: Deepika Padukone’s reaction to Ranveer Singh’s Simmba song Aankh Marey couldn’t be better

Deepika Padukone simply loves husband Ranveer Singh’s new song, titled Aankh Marey, from his upcoming film Simmba, just as much as we do. Soon after Aankh Marey released on Thursday on social media, Deepika left a comment in the section on Ranveer’s Instagram after he posted a short clip of the song. “I L-O-V-E IT,” reads Deepika’s comment along with heart-struck emojis. So cute.

Aankh Marey is a reworked version of the 1996 chartbuster from the film Tere Mere Sapne while the new song features Ranveer and co-star Sara Ali Khan performing quirky steps. It also stars Golmaal gang Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Kemmu, in a special appearance along with Simmba co-producer Karan Johar.

Deepika, in fact, also loved the trailer of Simmba, as revealed by Ranveer during the launch event last week. “As soon as she watched the trailer of Simmba on my birthday, the quiet person she is, in the end, she told me, ‘hot lag rahe ho (you are looking hot)’,” Ranveer had said on December 3, asked about his wife’s response to the trailer. Ranveer married Deepika in November in a private ceremony in Italy.

As far as Simmba is concerned, the Rohit Shetty-directed film highlights several issues including the empowerment of women and fighting crime against women. It narrates Ranveer’s Sangram Bhalerao’s journey as his character undergoes a valiant change in the film – from a corrupt cop, Bhalerao turns into a determined police officer, who sets out on a quest for justice to avenge a woman’s rape and subsequent death.

Simmba is the remake of Telugu film Temper and is scheduled to release on December 28. It is Sara’s second film after Kedarnath, which marks her debut in Bollywood.
