After two years long Priyanka Chopra is making her comeback to Bollywood with Shonali Bose’s directorial The Sky Is Pink. Priyanka made a name for herself in Hollywood with her series Quantico and became a global star-making Bollywood a much more well-known industry. She was all set to star in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat opposite Salman Khan but left the venture before the start of the shooting schedule. However, she stayed onboard Shonali’s film.
The reason for Peecee's exit from Bharat was given as her engagement with American singer-actor Nick Jonas. Although in Bharat Priyanka was supposed to sport five different looks, it seems that she will not miss much, as a leading daily reported that the actress will be seen sporting four different looks in Shonali's film as it will follow her character over a span of 30 years.
The Sky is Pink is based on the real-life story of Aisha Chaudhary, a motivational speaker and author of the book My Little Epiphanies. She was born with an immune deficiency disorder and was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis at the young age of 13 years. She succumbed to the disease at 19 years. Her mother, Aditi, played by PeeCee in the film has been spreading her legacy and story ever since.
The Sky is Pink also stars Farhan Akhtar as PeeCee’s husband and Aisha’s father and Zaira Wasim who will be essaying Aisha’s role. Priyanka has already started shooting for the film which is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur.
