Varun Dhawan will get a fat paycheck for Remo D’Souza’s next; Katrina Kaif is not-so-lucky

It seems like lady luck is grinning ear-to-ear on Varun Dhawan. After reaping accolades for his performance in Shoojit Sircar’s October opposite Banita Sandhu the actor will soon be teaming up with Katrina Kaif in Remo D’Souza’s next dance film. Remo, who is busy completing the shoot of Race 3 with Salman Khan, will soon make the biggest dance film in India. According to speculations, Varun would be paid a whopping Rs 32 crore while Katrina will be paid merely Rs 7 crores in comparison.

After releasing his last dance movie ABCD 2 in 3D, Remo now wants to take a step further. According to a report in a leading daily, the ace choreographer-director is planning to make the yet-untitled film in 4D. The film will see Katrina and Varun pair up for the first time and according to reports, the film also has huge investors and backers who are pumping in money. Reportedly, Remo will be paid Rs 12 crores for directing the film. A trade source was quoted as saying, “Varun has been lapped up for a staggering price for the dance film in which he teams up with Katrina Kaif. He will reportedly be paid Rs 32 cr!”

Remo believes that even though making ABCD 2 in 3D was a difficult task, it enhanced the movie and raked in a lot of moolah. D’Souza was reported as saying, “Making a 4D film is even more difficult as the audience is totally involved. There are a lot of elements that need to be considered. We need to take care of the camera angles, the mark of the actors, and that sometimes takes a toll on their performances. We don't want to compromise on the story because of the technology, so we are still toying with the idea.”

With the wage gap debate raging on all around the world it is surprising to know that Katrina who is a star in her own right will be paid almost four times less than Varun. The discrepancy goes on to emphasize the kind of discrimination actresses’ face while signing a movie. The yet-to-be-titled dance film will also star Prabhu Dheva, Dharmesh Yelande, Raghav Juyal and Punit Pathak.

The film is all set to go on floors at the end of the year and will release on November 8, 2019.
