Box Office Day 11: ‘Mission Mangal’ crosses Rs 150 crore mark, ‘Batla House’ inches closer to minting Rs 100 crore

Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari and Sharman Joshi starrer Mission Mangal has crossed the Rs 150 crore mark at the domestic box office. The film has fetched a cool Rs 164.61 crore at the box office and is Fox Star Studios' fifth film to cross the coveted Rs 150 crore mark.

Mission Mangal is Akshay's second-fastest film to reach the Rs 150 core after the Hindi version of 2.0 which had achieved this feat in a mere ten days. Mission Mangal did this in eleven days while Kesari had achieved this in twenty-five days. Mission Mangal is Akshay's tenth consecutive hit. The film is based on ISRO's Mars Orbiter Mission.

On the other hand, John Abraham’s Batla House is also doing very well at the box office. The film is nearing the Rs 100 crore mark and has fetched Rs 83.78 crore by its second Sunday. The film is based on the true encounter that happened at Batla House in New Delhi where a group of terrorists was in hiding.

Batla House also stars Mrunal Thakur in the lead and is directed by Nikkhil Advani.
