The new year kicked off for fans of South cinema with some exciting news. The release dates of two of the most anticipated films, Shaakuntalam and NTR 30, were confirmed whereas a new project was announced.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Dev Mohan's film, Shaakuntalam, got a new release date. The period romantic film will hit the silver screens on February 17, 2023. The story of Shaakuntalam revolves around the epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant from Mahabharata.
Shaakuntalam also stars Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, Dr. M.Mohan Babu Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Jisshu Sengupta and Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha. Presented by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations in collaboration with Gunaa Teamworks, Produced by Neelima Guna, and Written & Directed by Gunasekhar, the film is all set to release in 3D too.
Jr. NTR's upcoming film to release on April 5, 2024
All eyes are on Jr. NTR after the mega success of SS Rajamouli's RRR. He will be reuniting with his Janatha Garage director Koratala Siva for a film which will go on floors next month. The film, tentatively called NTR 30, will release on April 5, 2024.
Making the announcement, NTR Arts, one of the banners behind the film, wrote on Twitter, "A man's fury is the cure for a disease called courage. #NTR30 in cinemas on April 5th, 2024 Shoot begins next month. Happy New Year."

The film is presented by Nandamuri Kalyanram, and produced by Mikkilineni Sudhakar and Hari Krishna K under the banners Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts respectively.
Mrunal Thakur teams up with Nani for her second Telugu film
After the mega success of Sita Ramam across different languages, Mrunal Thakur announced her second Telugu film. She will be headlining debutant director Shouryuv's film. Nani will be the male lead on the project. Tentatively titled Nani 30, it was announced on Sunday.
