Mahesh Babu’s father veteran actor Krishna hospitalized, condition critical after suffering cardiac arrest

On Sunday, Mahesh Babu’s father Krishna was admitted to Continental Hospital in Hyderabad around midnight in an unconscious state after suffering a cardiac arrest. Reportedly, he was revived after being given CPR for 20 minutes and is currently being monitored for the next 24 hours in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Reportedly, Hospital Managing Director Guru N. Reddy said that his condition remains critical but somewhat stable.

 A video clip of a doctor sharing an update about Krishna’s health has surfaced on social media. Reddy said, “The cardiologists immediately performed CPR and in 20 minutes he was brought out of cardiac arrest.” On November 14, reports were doing the rounds that Krishna was hospitalized due to breathing issues. However, he suffered cardiac arrest. Currently, his health is critical and he is put under ventilator. Mahesh Babu has arrived at the hospital and is by his father’s side.

79-year-old Krishna, has acted in over 300 films across his three decade illustrious career and is considered Telugu cinema’s first superstar. He was last seen on screen in the 2016 Telugu film Sri Sri. He was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2009 for his contribution to Indian cinema.

Last month, Krishna’s first wife and Mahesh Babu’s mother Indira Devi had passed away. She had been suffering from a prolonged illness, as per a statement issued by the Ghattamaneni family after her demise.
