Rajinikanth, who is popularly addressed as Thalaiva by his fans out of love and respect, further stated that the office-bearers of the Rajinikanth Makkal Mandram will continue to work for people's welfare. He added that the RMM will be a part of the Rajinikanth Fan Club Association. "I have decided to dissolve Rajini Makkal Mandram. Apologising to his fans, Rajinikanth said in a statement, "I see this health complication as a warning given to me by God." He added, "Just because people will question me after I gave my word on my entry into politics, I don’t prefer to sacrifice my allies and friends. Forgive me because this decision will cause disappointment to those in Rajini Makkal Mandram and those who expected that I will enter politics."
