Kajal Aggarwal opens up about Kamal Haasan’s Indian2 shoot halt, says 'the film has been delayed indefinitely'

The shoot of Kamal Haasan’s highly anticipated film Indian 2 came to a standstill after a freak accident on the sets in February 2020. The accident, in which a crane crashed on the sets killed three technicians and injured others. Director Shankar and Haasan expressed grief over the accident and even compensated the technicians and their families affected by the incident. Now, the film’s female lead Kajal Aggarwal has revealed why the film’s shoot has not been started yet.

While promoting her upcoming Telugu release Mosagallu, Kajal said that since most of the crew members of the film are from the US, they are unable to travel to India due to the coronavirus pandemic, hence the shoot has been delayed indefinitely.

The accident left three dead and ten people injured when a crane with heavy-duty light came crashing down on the sets. Kajal and Haasan were on the sets but fortunately missed being crushed by the crane. The team announced an aid of Rs 1 crore each to the family of the deceased crew members.

The cheques were given to the family members on Thursday in the presence of Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) president RK Selvamani. An additional Rs 90 lakh was given to technician Ramarajan who was severely injured and sustained grave wounds in the accident.
