Rana Daggubati and his fiancée Miheeka Bajaj gave a major surprise on May 21 by sharing stunning pictures from roka ceremony where both the families met to plan the wedding. Soon after the pictures went viral, fans couldn't stop gushing over the new couple in tinsel town. The intimate function took place at Hyderabad's Ramanaidu Studios with close family members in attendance. With fans curious to know more about the proposal and love affair, Rana, during an Instagram live with Lakshmi Manchu, spilled the beans. He told that Miheeka was his sister Aashritha Daggubati's classmate and he knew her for a long time. He further revealed that the decision to get married was taken before the lockdown.
"She was Aashritha classmate and I knew her for a long time. However, the decision to get married happened pre-lockdown," Rana told.
The South superstar told that is interior designer fiancée was aware of his proposal. He said that when he met Miheeka for the first time, he was sure that he is ready for a lifelong commitment. "She knew where I’m getting at when I called her. And then she met me in person, that’s it. I remember I said a bunch of things together. For me, it was serious. It was commitment. When I met her, that’s the time I felt I am ready to do this. It was that simple, for real. I never thought about it. I met her, I liked her, and that’s it. I found love," Rana told.
Taling about his proposal amid the ongoing nationwide lockdown, Rana joked that he has found the strangest time to get married. "Depends on the world’s situation. I found the strangest time to get married," Rana said.
Speaking of Miheeka, the actor informed that she is brought up in Hyderabad and their worlds are the same. "Miheeka was brought up in Hyderabad. She lives right next to us in Jubilee Hills. She can speak Telugu, not fluent in it but yes. Also, our worlds are the same. The fun fact is that she is friends with my family, and I know her circle of friends in Mumbai," he added.
Rana further added that his exes shared good wishes on his engagement with Miheeka. "I got pouring messages from friends and others and they were all happy. My exes gave blessings," he said.
Rana and Miheeka are said to tie the knot in December this year.
