Kal Ho Naa Ho director Nikhil Advani’s mother, Rekha Advani, died suddenly on Saturday, a family source said. The funeral and last rites were conducted on Sunday. Many celebs, including Suniel Shetty, Athiya Shetty and Riteish Deshmukh attended the prayer meeting of the Director's late mother.
Father-Daughter duo, Suniel and Athiya Shetty were seen at the service. Nikhil was the first director Athiya worked with as an actress with the movie, Hero.
Riteish Deshmukh was also seen.
Spotted amongst the others were Chitrangada Singh and Saqib Saleem.
Kunal Kapoor and Gaurav Kapur were also seen.
The family shared the following message with well-wishers: “With grief and sadness, this is to inform you that Rekha Advani (m/o Monisha, Nikkhil and Kunal) passed away suddenly this evening. Funeral and last rites will be conducted on April 8 at Banganga, Nepean Sea Road at 1 pm. We will update details of Marka as soon as we have more information.”
