Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan are all set to star in the Screen Gems romantic drama, tentatively titled Text For You. Celine Dion also joins the cast and Jim Strouse is going to helm the film with a screenplay he wrote with Lauryn Kahn.
According to an online portal, the film is inspired by 2016 German-language hit SMS Fur Dich which is based on Sofie Cramer’s bestselling novel. The story is about a woman who after tragically using her fiancé starts to send romantic messages to his old cell phone. As luck would have it, his old number is assigned to another man who has had a similar heartbreak. However, even after meeting and felling a connection they are unable to let go of the past. According to the portal, in the English language remake, the music and influence of Celine gives them the courage to give love a second chance.
The film is being produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Esther Hornstein. On the other hand, Priyanka has a bevy of good projects in her kitty that includes The Matrix 4, Russo Brother’s Citadel, Netflix’s adaptation of the Man Booker Prize-winning novel The White Tiger, and We Can Be Heroes, directed by Robert Rodriguez.
