Michael C Hall all set to reprise his role of serial killer Dexter Morgan in a new limited-episode season

Dexter, one of the most famous TV serial killers is on its way back. Cable network Showtime announced the revival of the series on Wednesday. The new season will have 10-episodes with Michael C.Hall ready to reprise his role of Dexter Morgan, blood spatter specialist who works with the Miami police department and moonlights as a vigilante killer.

The announcement was made on Showtime’s official Instagram page. They posted a teaser including Dexter’s typical blood-splattering way. They captioned the post, “This is not a Type-O #Dexter will return (sic).”

Gary Levine, president of entertainment at Showtime said in a statement, “We would only revisit this unique character if we could find a creative take that was truly worthy of the brilliant, original series. Well, I am happy to report that (executive producer) Clyde Phillips and Michael C. Hall have found it.”

Dexter ran for eight seasons until 2013 and brought in the trend for anti-heroes with ambiguous morals. The award-winning serial killer drama will be helmed by original showrunner Clyde Phillips. According to reports, the series is set to go into production in early 2021 with a tentative premiere date of fall 2021.
