Bella Hadid's Schiaparelli couture to Masoom Minawala's Indian representation, BEST DRESSED looks from Cannes 2021 red carpet

Enjoying a reputation as Europe’s premier film festival, Cannes 2021 is back again with a game of who wore what? This time the 74th annual event staged in the French Riviera had a stellar line-up of stars from all around the world. The occasion welcomed fashionable crowds from diverse backgrounds and cultures to engage in this iconic style extravaganza. 

The range of the heavyweight names included supermodels from every place and timeline, Hollywood stars from classics to currents, influencers and more. A huge step in Indian representation as our fashion influencers like Masoom Minawala and Diipa Büller-Khosla got an opportunity to join and shine the Cannes red carpet as well. As their work got the due credit and recognization, so did their attires!

One of the most show-stopping gowns so far came from none other than Bella Hadid. The American model graced the carpet in an all-black Schiaparelli gown. The gorgeous bodice had a super-low neckline which morphed into a golden lung neckpiece and into Chopard jewellery. An excellent accessorization indeed!

Masoom Minawala

Indian fashion influencer, Masoom Minawala's took over Cannes in a pearl white saree by Manish Malhotra. The silver sequin embroidery on the custom-made chiffon stitched saree was paired with a textured blouse embedded with matching Swarovski hints and an exaggerated shoulder drape. The outfit was styled by Meagan Concessio and accessorized by mesmerizing Boucheron jewels.

Diipa Büller-Khosla

Indian influencer and fashion icon relived her Cinderella fantasy as she walked the red carpet in an ultra-dramatic off-shoulder blue dress. This outfit is a prime example of one Desi queen inspiring another! This is a corseted tulle rendition by designer Milla inspired by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Cannes dress in the same colour.

Chastain channelled her inner goth in an all-black tulle dress! The strapless semi-sheer gown by Christian Dior had thin waves of black velvet attached to its lace material. She adorned a necklace with three rows of pink jewels and a ruby ring that matched her signature red lip. Her hair pulled back in a side-partitioned wavy ponytail.

Timothée Chalamet

Menswear on the red carpet can be pretty conventional. However, leave it to Timothée Chalamet to ace everything unconventional! He dripped in Tom Ford's patterned metallics from head to toe. And to match the vibe of his high-shine blazer and trousers, he donned noir sunglasses from Celine and a bunch of sparkly Cartier rings.

Amy Jackson looked like a belle who escaped a ball to arrive at Cannes in this stunning off-shoulder burgundy gown. The actress accessorised this voluminous Atelier Zuhra creation with an elegant diamond choker and earrings from Chopard. With hair tied in a sleek ponytail, Jackson's makeup was on point with a classic maroon pout.

Step aside for Sharon Stone! All she had to bring everything to a halt was saunter gently in a stunning Dolce & Gabbana couture. The bright blue tulle ensemble with an off-the-shoulder neckline was all covered in colourful 3D floral embellishments. The princess-ey skirt was extra poofy with an elongated train in the back.

French model Didi Stone Olomide turned heads on the red carpet in dramatic Jean Paul Gaultier couture. This divinely white dress featured a transparent bodysuit, textured corset, flouncy oversized sleeves and a billowing train that's longer in the back than the front. She completed her look with white sandals and dangling earrings.

Tina Kunakey came to set the carpet ablaze and she did it. The French model was a whole high-fashion mood to be witnessed! Her couture was inclusive of a lavender top that wrapped around her shoulders and head and then cascaded down till it was tied at the waist with a red bow. The skirt was a deeper hue of purple!

Reputed for his style, Spike Lee opened Cannes 2021 red carpet in a playful pink Louis Vuitton number designed by Virgil Abloh himself. The suaveness got topped with a matching pair of pink sunglasses featuring holographic lenses. Offering an offbeat twist to the whole sophistication, he wore a pair of Nike Air Jordans and a black fedora.

Marion Cotillard

Marion Cotillard isn't new to making a high-key statement in the most low-key way possible. The Oscar-winning actress showed up on the carpet in a floral printed denim dress by the House of Chanel. She kept it sweet and simple with the same textured belt, Frencified classic hair, subtle makeup and dangling diamond earrings.  

Farhana Bodi

Farhana Bodi saw Cannes red carpet as her chance to shine and that's what she exactly did! The Dubai influencer took over the Cannes carpet in a captivating short and semi-sheer metallic attire. The top bodice bloomed into pale but multi-coloured flower petals and continued into a puffy silver skirt with sharp geometric patterns.

The skintight semi-sheer number had cross-back straps and intricate patterns stitched into the fabric. She pulled off the sensual look with a high bun and silver star earrings.

French-Italian singer and songwriter, Carla Bruni arrived at Cannes sparkling in glam glory. Her gorgeous icy blue-silver dress by Celine boasted a thigh-high slit in an asymmetrical floor-length cutout. She looked distinctively elegant as she teamed her one-shouldered, embellished ensemble with a dainty clutch and sky-high silver heels.
