The most celebrated film magazine in Bollywood, Filmfare now has its wings even in Dubai. Last night, Dubai saw many Bollywood and Pakistani stars under the same roof to re-launch the Filmfare magazine’s Middle-Eastern edition.
In spite of the heat amongst India and Pakistan and the ban on Pakistani actors in Bollywood is going strong, celebrities of both sides seem to have had an amazing time mingling with each other last night. In fact, the first edition after the re-launch features Deepika Padukone on its cover.

At the event amongst the many famous Bollywood personalities were: Dia Mirza, Javed Jaaferi, Naved Jaaferi, Sophie Choudry, Pooja Hegde, Jacky Shroff, Bappi Lahiri, Armaan and Amaal Malik, Usha Uthup, Raza Murad and Vindu Dara Singh, Ssumier Pasricha, etc.
The re-launch even saw telly celebs, Gurmeet Chaudhary and his wife Debina Bonnerjee, Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa. Pakistani superstars Fawad Khan – the only Pakistani actor to have been on the Filmfare cover, and Mehwish Hayat were also spotted amongst others.
The magazine was first launched in the middle-east about six years ago. But last year saw the downfall of both Filmfare and Femina magazines, which were eventually shut. This year, it has taken a new leap ahead. Talking to the Gulf News, a spokesperson from the Dubai-based Danube said, “Filmfare re-launch was an ambitious dream but I was confident that my team and I would get the best result possible. We took some time but now we are all set to re-launch Filmfare in the Middle East.”
