Dharam Ji’s last written lines give Sriram Raghavan’s IKKIS its deepest emotion

National Award-winning director Sriram Raghavan's new film IKKIS is already attracting attention for its emotional tone and depth. Dharam Ji, who recently passed away, wrote a poem for the film in his final lines, giving it direction and soul. His line, "Aaj bhi ji karda hai, pind apne nu jaanwa", feels even more poignant today, as it represents not just a composition, but his heartfelt connection to the soil.

Dharam ji's poetry lies at the emotional core of the film as if the nostalgia for home, the scent of soil, and the strength of duty are fulfilled together in a soldier's heart.

Dharam Ji will always be remembered as an artist who captured the fragrance, intimacy, and simplicity of the land in his words and style. Through this poem, he gives the protagonist of IKKIS a heartbeat that is both soft, immortal, and true. It feels as if Dharam Ji has brought to life the courage, roots, and passion of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal through his words.

IKKIS is the true story of the indomitable valor of India's youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient, Arun Khetarpal. Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Maddock Films, this ambitious project is made even more impressive by the sensitive direction of Sriram Raghavan. IKKIS will release in theaters on December 25th.
