Voices have been raised many times in the film and entertainment industry regarding casting couch and harassment of actresses. Now actress Amruta Subhash has shared one such painful experience related to her life, remembering which she also became emotional. She told how a big producer behaved inappropriately with her and she strongly opposed it.

In a recent interview to Zoom, Amruta Subhash recalled an incident from her theater days and said, "I was climbing the stairs and maybe my top had lifted up a little, which I did not even realize. Then I felt someone's hand near my waist. I turned around and saw that he was a big drama producer. I immediately stared at him and asked - what did you just do? What was this?"

Amruta says that the producer tried to avoid the matter and said that nothing happened. She said, "I then asked how dare you touch me there? If my top went up, it does not mean that anyone can touch me. How can you do this?" Everyone present there was shocked because he was a big name. Amruta further said that people tried to scare her that this could harm her career. “I was told that you will not get roles. But I clearly said – whatever happens will be seen, but no one can touch me without my permission. No matter who he is, no matter how big he is.”

Recalling another incident, Amrita told that a senior person repeatedly invited her to come for a drink at night. “After postponing it many times, I went there one day. His room was there. I opened the door and went inside. People were watching. I looked straight into his eyes and said – Sir, you are of my father's age. How can you talk to me like this? What is the problem with you?” She said that the person was stunned. “I deliberately kept the door open – for my safety and so that people could see. I was tired of hearing such things every day. People laughed awkwardly, but I had to feel uncomfortable. I said clearly – don't do this again.”
