Shubman Gill jokes with Ed Sheeran: Ask Shah Rukh Khan why did they not retain me in KKR

Ed Sheeran's visit to Mumbai for the Mathematics Tour was the talk of the town in March. The global sensation was navigating through the city, interacting with top celebrities and popular names from the Indian film fraternity. From Shah Rukh Khan, Farah Khan to Kapil Sharma and Ayushmann Khurrana, he took social media by storm with pictures and videos from star-studded bashes. Now, in an interview on YouTube, Ed spent a couple of hours with YouTuber Tanmay Bhat and cricketer Shubman Gill.

The video was shared by the singer on his YouTube. In the clip, Ed revealed he was excited to meet Shah Rukh Khan as he adores the actor. Shubman shared that he used to play for the superstar's IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He also told Ed to ask why Shah Rukh didn't retain him in the team.

Ed said in the video, "I am going to see Shah Rukh Khan tonight for dinner." Shubman said, "I used to play for his team." The singer wasn't aware that the superstar has a cricket team. Tanmay then explained that he has an IPL team named Kolkata Knight Riders and Shubman used to play for it. Shubman told, "Ask him why did they not retain me." The trio laughed at this moment.

On March 13, Ed shared a video with Shah Rukh on Instagram. They can be seen recreating the superstar's iconic open-arm pose. The caption read, "This is the Shape of Us. Spreading love together…."
