Ahead of Lok Sabha elections, Aashiqui singer Anuradha Paudwal joins Bharatiya Janta Party

The 2024 General Elections dates were announced today. It will be held in India from April 19 to June 1 to elect 543 members of the Lok Sabha. The elections will be held in 7 different phases and the results will be announced on June 4. Amid this, veteran singer Anuradha Paudwal announced her entry into the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP). 

At a press conference at the BJP headquarters in Delhi, Ms Paudwal said, "Jai Shri Ram. I am very happy to join a party and a government that has such a deep connection with sanatan. After singing in the film industry for 35 years, I have only sung devotional songs. I always used to wonder whether I did the right thing or not, but today I feel it was the right decision. I got an opportunity to sing at the consecration ceremony of Ram Mandir for five minutes which was my lifelong dream. 

 

She further thanked Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India and leader of BJP. The singer shared, "It is my good fortune to be associated with this party. Narendra Bhai (PM Narendra Modi) ko mera pranaam, who ensured we move in the right direction."

Anuradha Paudwal started her singing career with devotional songs. In 1973, she turned to playback singing in Hindi films with Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan's Abhimaan. She has lent her voice to numerous songs in films including Aashiqui, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi, and Beta.
