Veteran Ghazal and playback singer, Pankaj Udhas, breathed his last today. His daughter, Nayaab Udhas, confirmed the tragic news with an official statement from the family. According to the statement, he was suffering from a prolonged illness. Further details on the same are awaited.
Nayaab shared the official statement on Instagram which read, "With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of the sad demise of Padmashri Pankaj Udhas on 26th February 2024 due to a prolonged illness."
Pankaj Udhas has sung songs including Chitthi Aayi Hai from Mahesh Bhatt's 1986 crime thriller Naam. In 2006, he has received the Padma Shri award.
