Shah Rukh Khan addresses his 4 year long sabbatical from acting: Thought I'm not making good films

Shah Rukh Khan ruled 2023 with back-to-back releases. Starting from Pathaan in January followed by Jawan and ending the year with the Christmas surprise for his fans Dunki. But prior to that actor was away from the industry for 4 years. Addressing the same in one of Dunki's meet-and-greet sessions, he went on to mention that at a point he felt that his films weren't doing well and the audience was no more liking his films.

He said, "It's new because I have been working for 33 years and took such a big gap. Normally, you get a little nervous and you feel, 'I hope I've got the film right.' Before that, there were some of my films that didn't do well, and so I thought I'm not making good films. But I think more than my films, there was love for Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki from the people."

He further went on to express gratitude to the audience for giving so much love to his work. Shah Rukh said, "I think this whole country and people outside this country, from India, have actually taken me to their heart more than the films and said that, 'Don’t take a break for 4 years, 2-4 months are fine.' So, I’m very thankful to all of you, to the audience, and the whole world for making me realize that what I do is right and I should keep on doing it."

Shah Rukh's Pathaan released on January 25 and has been directed by Siddharth Anand. Following, Atlee Kumar's directorial Jawan released on September 7 and Dunki directed by Rajkumar Hirani dropped on December 21.
