Race, Jug Jugg Jeeyo to Animal, Anil Kapoor paves his own path in ensemble films and shines!

It's Anil Kapoor's world and we're just living in it. In his career spanning decades, the veteran actor has displayed various shades on celluloid and paved a path for himself. From playing the quintessential charming hero to exploring grey characters, he has done it all. His recent release, Animal, projected a different human shade. Anil played Ranbir Kapoor's father, Balbir Singh, in the crime drama.

At a time when leading actors hesitate to sign multi-hero and ensemble films, Anil set a new example by supporting his director's vision and signing up for brave roles that allowed him to create a unique identity every time. Making his character shine with his performance, he joined forces with his co-stars to deliver the best content. As Animal continues its successful run at the box office, let's look at the ensemble films in which Anil acted as a strong pillar and excelled too.

Animal

Animal is one of the biggest films of 2023. Anil Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Tripti Dimri and Bobby Deol play central roles. Anil is Ranbir's father and his character is pivotal to the story. Making the most of a well-written role, he delivered a flawless act.

Jug Jugg Jeeyo

Anil Kapoor played Varun Dhawan's father in Jug Jugg Jeeyo (2022). The film also starred Neetu Kapoor, Kiara Advani and Maniesh Paul. While the Raj Mehta directorial primarily revolved around Varun and Kiara, it also shed light on Anil and Neetu's story. Creating space for his character to shine, Anil did a fantastic job.

Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga

Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga was one of the most progressive films of 2019. Anil starred with his daughter Sonam Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Juhi Chawla. Despite being a star-studded film, the actor stood tall and won appreciation.

Malang

Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani's sizzling chemistry might have been the highlight but the true selling point of Malang was Anil Kapoor's menacing antagonist role. Owning each frame with his powerful presence, the actor's performance shall be remembered for the longest time.

Race franchise

The iconic Race franchise is known for its ensemble cast. Anil Kapoor was associated with all three parts and left an indelible mark. Indeed, Race is incomplete without Anil's swag, humour and charisma.
