Karan Johar takes a cryptic dig at makers of Katrina Kaif-Vijay Sethupathi's Merry Christmas for clashing with Sidharth Malhotra's Yodha at box office

The release date of Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi's bilingual film, Merry Christmas, was announced this morning. After quite a few delays, the Sriram Raghavan directorial will be hitting the silver screen on December 15, 2023. It clashes with Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna's action thriller Yodha.

Karan Johar, who produced Yodha, has cryptically slammed the makers of Merry Christmas for bringing the film on the same day and causing a box-office clash. On Threads, which is Instagram's text-based conversation app, the filmmaker posted his reaction.

His cryptic note read, "Clashing on a date without the courtesy of a phone call is hopefully not the way forward for the studios and producers …. If we don’t stand united in these tough and challenging theatrical days then calling us a fraternity is futile…."

Yodha is presented by Amazon Prime and Dharma Productions in association with Mentor Disciple Films. It is directed by debutant duo Sagar Ambre & Pushkar Ojha. On the other hand, Merry Christmas is presented by Tips Films and Matchbox Pictures.
