Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday's Dream Girl 2 has been postponed. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the sequel was scheduled to release on July 7 but now, it will debut on the silver screen on August 25. The reason behind the delay is the extensive VFX work that's required for the film.
In an official statement, producer Ektaa R Kapoor said, "We want Ayushmann Khurrana's character to look perfect as Pooja in Dream Girl 2, and that's why we are taking extra time to perfect the VFX work for the face. We want to ensure that our viewers get the best possible experience when they watch the movie. The VFX work for Dream Girl 2 is an integral part of the movie, and we want to ensure that we deliver a high-quality product to our audiences."
Dream Girl 2 was originally locked for June 29, 2023. Honouring her friendship with Sajid Nadiadwala, Ektaa preponed the film to June 2 to avoid a clash with Satyaprem Ki Katha. Earlier this year, it was announced that the family entertainer got another release date-July 7. Now, finally, Dream Girl 2 will arrive in theatres on August 25.
Dream Girl 2 also stars Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Manoj Joshi, Rajpal Yadav, Seema Pahwa, Manjot Singh and Abhishek Banerjee. The film is produced by Ektaa R Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures.
