Deepika Padukone announces Naatu Naatu's live performance on Oscars 2023 stage!

It is India's year at the 95th Academy Awards! While SS Rajamouli's RRR has been nominated for its song Naatu Naatu, Kartiki Gonsalves' documentary short film titled The Elephant Whisperers won the Best Documentary Short Film award. Shaunak Sen's All That Breathes, sadly, couldn't bag an award. During the ceremony held in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 12 (today in India), Naatu Naatu was performed live on the stage. Deepika Padukone, who went to the Oscars as a presenter, announced the live act.

Talking about Naatu Naatu and RRR, the global star said, "An irresistibly catchy chorus, electrifying beats and killer dance moves to match have made this next song a global sensation. It plays during a pivotal scene in RRR, a movie about the friendship between real-life Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. In addition to being sung in Telugu and illustrating the film’s anti-colonialist themes, it’s also a total banger. It’s got millions of views on YouTube and Tiktok, has audiences dancing in movie theatres all around the world, and is also the first song ever from an Indian production to be nominated for an Oscar."
