'I will come back to acting after a year,' confirms Aamir Khan; talks about taking a break to spend time with his family

Aamir Khan will be seen in a cameo in Kajol and Vishal Jethwa-led Salaam Venky. The superstar, on Wednesday, attended the special screening of the film in Mumbai. During an interaction with the paparazzi, he opened up about his decision to take a break from acting for the time being. Aamir clarified that he has a brief role in Salaam Venky and his fans will have to wait for at least a year to see him on the big screen in the lead role.

Aamir told the paparazzi that he isn't acting right now and wants to spend time with his family. "I am not doing anything. For the last many years, I have been working continuously so right now I want to spend some time with my family. Paani foundation ka bhi kaam chal raha hai, aur bhi thoda kaam chal raha hai, so I will come back to acting after a year. You can see me in this small role," Aamir told.

In November, Aamir announced his decision to take a break from acting. At an event, he expressed his desire to voluntarily spend time with his family and focus on producing good films. He said, "I feel I have been working for 35 years and I have single-mindedly been focused on my work. I feel that it's not fair to people who are close to me. This is the time I feel I have to take some time off to be with them, and actually experience life in a different way. I am looking forward to the next year, a year-and-a-half in which I am not working as an actor."

Aamir will be producing RS Prasanna's Hindi remake of the Spanish film titled Campeones (Champions). Initially, he was signed for the film in the lead role. The actor who will replace Aamir is yet to be confirmed.
