Lata Mangeshkar's death to Sushmita Sen-Lalit Modi's love story, here are the top 10 most googled celebrities of 2022

Google has released its “Year In Search 2022” report that features things that created a buzz this year and were searched most on the platform. The list, which is released annually for various countries, shows a noticeable shift in search trends in India. This year, people googled more about entertainment, games and other topics rather than coronavirus-related queries that dominated the trending search list in 2021.

The 'Mos Searched' celebrities in India include Lata Mangeshkar, Sidhu Moose Wala, KK, Bappi Lahiri, Sushmita Sen-Lalit Modi, Shane Warne, Queen Elizabeth, Anjali Arora, Abdu Rozik and Amber Heard. Singing icon Lata Mangeshkar’s death in February was the most-googled Indian news event of the year.

Three other singers’ deaths found spots on the list. Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and KK’s deaths in May, and Bappi Lahiri’s passing in February were the second, eighth and 10th most searched events of 2022. The list also featured the passing of two others — cricketer Shane Warne, and Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II.

Sushmita Sen and Lalit Modi also made it to the list and took the fifth spot for their love story which began and ended this year. Reality TV stars Anjali Arora and Abdu Rozik took the sixth and seventh spots on the list. Amber Heard was the 10th most googled personality in India.
