Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday forced to leave Liger promotional event mid-way due to overcrowding; female fans faints

Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday were at a mall in Mumbai on Sunday to promote their upcoming film Liger. Owing to their popularity and fan following, it was a house full as people turned up in huge numbers. While the excitement was at an all-time high, things took an ugly turn due to overcrowding. To control the situation and considering the safety of fans, Vijay and Ananya were forced to leave the mall mid-way.

Looking at the situation at the mall, Vijay even requested his fans to stay calm and not cause a stampede. After being forced to exit before the scheduled time, the actor penned a special note on Instagram thanking people for all their love. "You love has touched me. Hope you all are safe and back home. Wish I could have been there with you all so much longer. Thinking about you all as I go to bed. Goodnight Mumbai #Liger (sic)," he wrote.

The producer of Liger, Charmme Kaur, shared videos from the event. She wrote, "Team #Liger is overwhelmed with all the love that you showered on us today at our mall visit in Mumbai. We would like to thank everybody who came to support us. Unfortunately, we had to leave midway for the safety of everyone! The massive turnout just resinstates the love you have showered on us and we would like to send the same love manifold to all our amazing fans! Hope everyone is safe."

Due to overcrowding, a female fan almost fainted due to suffocation. The volunteers on ground came to her rescue.

Liger, co-starring Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy and Mike Tyson, is directed by Puri Jagannadh. Co-produced by Karan Johar, Puri Jagannadh and Charmme, the film will release in theatres on August 25.
